Romana- Textured Leather Backpack, Shoulder & Crossbody Bag

Meet Romana.

Romana has been an instant hit with Ang and our friend who we gave one to for her birthday.

Four bags in one, this is ideal if you are looking for a smaller bag that you can use as a backpack to keep your hands free, as well as a bag that you can use as a shoulder bag or crossbody bag. The top handle is handy if you just want to grab it to take it to the car of the train or generally use it a s a grab bag.

The leather that this bag is made from has been embossed to give the textured effect, to do this the leather needs to be a decent thickness and strength so it will not feel soft to the touch. However, this is not a stiff leather and is pliable so is comfortable to wear.

This is a semi structured bag, so when it has items in it, it should stand on its base, the studs on the bottom will help with protecting the base.

The main compartment is secured by a full-length gold coloured zip which has two pullers and goes to the base of the bag on both sides to give easy access to all of the bag. Both sides are gusseted to about halfway up the bag, to stop your things from falling out when fully opened.

When you get inside the bag, you have a choice of storage options, the main compartment has a zipped compartment dividing in into two, this pocket is not attached to the base, so small items can get between the two main compartments. But this centre pocket along with the zipped pocket in the lining and vanity pocket are great for holding small items so that they are easier for you to find.

There are a further two compartments on the outside of the bag, to the rear there is a zipped lining compartment, and the front has a patch pocket with a flap and magnetic popper, the very bottom of the sides of this pocket have a small gap so it is not ideal for very small things.

As well as the carry handle on the top of the bag, the fully adjustable straps, can be used as adjustable shoulder straps, or two rucksack/backpack straps, which are adjustable by the gold coloured metal sliding buckles.

Size Details:

Overall Dimensions: Width of base is 23cm, of widest part is 28cm and at the top it is 20cm. Height is 28cm not including the studs, the Depth at the base is 8cm which reduces to 2cm at the top.

Front Pocket Dimensions: Width at the bottom is 8cm reducing to 5.5cm at the top, a usable height of 7cm and depth of 1.5cm.

Rear Pocket Dimensions: Width of zip opening 4.25cm and depth of pocket is 12cm.

Internal Patch: 12.5cm wide and 12cm deep

Internal Zipped Middle Pocket: 16cm wide and 13cm deep.

Internal Zipped Lining Pocket: 14.5cm wide and 13.5cm deep.

Top Handle Gap: Base of handle to the top of the closed zip is 6.5cm

Strap End to End Length: Maximum 184.5cm Minimum 105cm including the clips, so plenty of scope to wear it exactly as you want to for any given time.

NB: All of these sizes are approximate and can vary slightly.

Due to the bags being handmade, you will find variations in colour, softness, and the grain of the leather, as they are prepared using traditional Florentine techniques. These variations are characteristics of traditional Italian manufacturing, and are a renowned feature of authentic real leather.

Most bags will come with a stamp and/or label saying Vere Pelle or Borse in Pelle, translated, this means Real or Genuine Leather, and Leather Bag or Handbag.

Some bags may come with a faint smell that is not the leather, this will be either due to the tanning of the leather, or glue, for bags that are glued and stitched, this is normal and will wear off quickly.

UK Deliveries 

These are sent by Royal Mail Tracked 24 postal service, and should arrive the next working day. A tracking number will be sent in the dispatch email.

EU Delivery 

We can now ship to the EU, depending on the country it can take up to 10 days.

US and Australian Delivery.

We use DHL international express delivery service, DHL quote a 2-3 delivery time to most parts, again, the times can vary in remote areas, and you will be aware of what to expect for where you live. The other possible delay is when going through customs going into the US or Australia.

Canadia Delivery 

Standard orders are sent by Royal Mail International Tracked post. Royal Mail will pass the delivery over to USPS in the US, Canada Post in Canada and Autralia Post in Australia, all of these countries can hold items in Customs as they enter the country, we have no control of this and it can add to the delivery time. As an average and general rule, Royal Mail say that it should take between 5-10 working days to deliver, obviously some parts of these countries take longer than others, but you will know what to expect for where you live. For Canada, any sent by DHL will trigger the customs duty, and this is payable by yourself, from experience a lot of deliveries via Canada Post seem not to trigger the duty payment, we have no idea why, this is just what has been fedback from customers.

Only UK deliveries have the cost included, deliveries outside of the UK incur an addition cost dependant on the destination, this will be displayed at the check out.

If you order an item that is in stock, and an item which is not, then we will email you to see your preference of waiting till both items can be sent together, or sent separately. There will not be an additional charge if you would like them shipped separately.

Exchanges & Refunds (UK)

As regular on line shopper ourselves, we know that returns and exchanges, and the possible hassle associated with them, can be a worry, and we do not want anyone of our customers to worry.

In addition to your statutory rights for cancellation and returns which are shown on our terms page, You can return an order within 30 days for a full refund or exchange. For the Christmas period we change our policy so that any goods bought from the 1st October, can be returned up until the middle of January. If you have any special requirements on returns or exchanges, please let us know before you buy as we can make special arrangements in most circumstances.

All goods we sell have a 1 year guarantee, for our own products we take a case by case view on things.

If you need to return an order for a refund or exchange, please could you return any items as sent out.

Please can you replace the stuffing as it came out, this will help the bag keeps its shape, re wrapped in the bubble wrap, including the plastic bag, with tags attached as received and the protective dust bag, please keep the dustbag folded as it arrived. The goods must also be undamaged. Please be careful with handles, as these placed on the outside can cause the leather of the bag to be dented.

With all orders, please return the paperwork sent out, or quote the order number as without this we will be unable to trace your order. If you would like to swap for another item, please can you write this on the paperwork detailing what you would like to swap for. If you would like to swap but are concerned if we have the stock, please let us know, if needed we can put an item by for you while the one you are returning journeys back to us.

Note:

We are really sorry to have to say this, but due to experience we have to. Any items that arrive back used and or damaged will not be eligible for a refund, any clothing returned covered in pet or other hairs will not be eligible for a full refund. It sounds mad, but the state of some of the items we receive back is astounding and have to be thrown away, or washed and given to charity, as ever the few ruin things for the many and we have to put notes of this nature here. In these cases the cost of the return postage will also be retained from any refund.

Alternatively you can arrange a collection and for them to bring a label.

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, which cover catalogues and on line sales, the customer is responsible for the return of the item, and the vendor can withhold lost funds, if the item is not returned in an adequate manner.

As long as these conditions are met, we will happily offer a full refund or exchange for the returned item. 

Exchanges and refunds are usually made, the same day that we receive the item back. We will email you to confirm what is going on. A refund may take a little longer to appear on your bank statement from actual date of refund dependent upon your financial institution.

This does not affect your statutory rights under UK and EU Law.
